Everyday Life, Spaces, and Objects
Centered around the word "romance," this exhibition expresses the joy of imagining the future through precious memories and emotional traces in our lives. The term "romance," which evokes both nostalgia for the past and a sense of romanticism, relies on our vague recollections of interactions between individuals, communities, and the environment.
Here, the concept of a "romantic life" embodies a positive energy and hope that arises from embracing one's individuality and surrounding environment. It speaks of an emotional yet optimistic vision for the future. The lifestyles of the past were less about being consumers of ownership and sharing and more about the realization of envisioned spaces—pioneering an ideal life despite the gap between dreams and reality.
At this year's Living Design Fair, three distinct spaces will be presented as representations of our ideal or dreamlike environments. However, these spaces are not beyond reach; rather, they can be achieved by shifting perspectives, reinterpreting small overlooked details, and letting go of excessive desires for ownership. A romantic space does not require everything—it emerges from a thoughtful structure, intentional design, and a different way of living.
By slightly altering our perspectives on our existing homes and spaces, we can transform them into the idealized, romantic settings we aspire to. The three featured spatial concepts embody individuality, purpose, form, experience, and meaning. Instead of adapting ourselves to fit a predefined lifestyle, this exhibition encourages us to reveal our true selves and shape our own spaces. Through this process, we can reclaim the romance we may have lost and create a life uniquely our own.
